work damn, you!
testing the blog changeover.
Bullplop... is just a way for me to share the bullsh!t of my life with friends and strangers. I don't know why strangers would read this sh!t, but if they do, I hope they think it's funny. It's mostly about me, the lakers, bikerides, and the funny adventures that "plop" into my lap.
My friend Paul and I got along great right from the start. We met while I was living in Taiwan, and he was visiting for the annual bike show. Since his company did a lot of work with the factories in Taiwan he'd fly out to Taichung City, where I lived, a few times each year.
We hung out at my apartment before going out to legendary Taiwanese NightClub, The Pig Pen. At some point the conversation turned to music, and I showed him my new Faithless CD, and he flipped. He liked their music, but he liked the cover of their CD even more. He kept asking me "where did you get this?" and I confusedly told him "Tower Records," unsure of why he would ask. He told me that the Bluebird, where this photo was taken, was just a few blocks away from his house.
A few days later, this picture showed up in my email box. Though it happened a few years ago, I still think its really cool.
I spent my Monday working for Mission Federal Credit Union at their annual charity golf tournament. As luck would have it, I ended up working the thirteenth hole. Stationed at this par five was Vince Howell a long drive champion. It was pretty cool to charge 20 bucks to each foresome that came by the 13th hole, then watch this guy pummel the ball some 350 yards. amazing, really. He did a little demo for everyone, showing how he clobbers the ball. He hit a few with the back side of the club, or using a really short club. I was impressed to see him teeing off with a putter, and hitting nearly 300 yards. With a putter. I'm not making it up. I'm not making the title of this post up, either. It said that on Vince's bag. Apparently its all in the shaft.
In an effort to self-improve, I've taken up jogging. I had my first jog down to the beach in an old pair of addidas that really aren't for jogging. An earlier attempt at jogging while Cat sitting in La Mirage left my jogging shoes there, and me here on the Saturday i promised to start "for real" I'm glad I did it. I"m enjoying my hard earned cup of coffee, and looking forward to a coding party with Pleonasm, at our computer lab.
I am the proud owner of BullPlop.com. As my portfolio site grows, I'd like to keep my bullplop further and further away. I purchased several domains today. Excited about all of them. I've been wanting to throw down for hosting for BullPlop for a while. I'm glad its finally time. The other domain name is for me professionally, Blognition.org, is still hosting-less. the other domain is for a friend, and I've picked up RobinRindi.com for ten years along with one year of hosting with Server Fly.
I borrowed my friend's Camry for the weekend. Its the same car I used to drive past the Nuclear Boobs two times this weekend. I called my friend, Active Dork as I drove past each time. Apparently the dork was out being active someplace... go figgir! Feel free to email him as many times as you like.
The camry is a great car despite being in the "heavily used" class of cars. Its a 94 with 160,000 miles. My current car is an 89 with 199,872 miles as of today, so to me that car is both newer and faster. I like it because its the kind of car I could drive without needing a monthly car payment. And drive quickly. My car often leaves me climbing up hills, relieved that a slow moving bus was there to labor up the hill with.
The view from out the window was spectacular.... I love the nuclear boobs of San Onofre.
The US Olympic Basketball team has not lost since we started using pros. I'm about to watch this team play for the first time against Germany. Hurray for Tivo. People are starting to say we were lucky in Sydney. For me that will always be the summer Vince jumped OVER a seven footer from France. This team lost to Italy a few days ago, getting beaten badly. Let's see how they rebound. Hurray for international basketball meaning something.
A friend of mine sent me a link to a story about a man living in Thailand who came home drunk to a wife who wouldn't sleep with him. He got mad, stormed off, and went and drank whiskey until the next day. When she said no a second time, he cut off his own member with a pair of scissors (then made it even worse by cutting it into pieces...eww). I wouldn't normally link to a story like that, but it gets better. The guys name was Po Dong. As in, when he sobers up, he's gonna realize his po dong still won't be getting any attention from the Missus. Ouch!
I'm headed to my first Hawaiian style wedding this afternoon. Apparently, its customary to wear a Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Shoes, I'm told, are optional. Awesome. Change the hawaiian shirts to wife-beaters and it sounds like a redneck wedding, which is the kind of wedding I would plan if I were in charge. Can you believe I'm still single? The bride and groom are great friends of mine, and I'm really excited to go and watch them take that next step. As a tribute to my bike riding relationship with the groom, I may even pedal over there. How cool a wedding is that?
