Rainy Day

Not really worth blogging about in most parts of the world, but the fact that it is raining in San Diego is definitely news. We have not had rain in 181 days. Yes, someone else counted, not me. I took a visit to the doctor's office this morning. I've had a sore back which has given me a lot of grief. Lately whenever I move my left leg, my left ball really hurts. The doc gave me a bunch of stretches to do, and some anti-inflammatory meds to take. (no pain killers, damn) I really thought I had a hernia. I carried in some groceries last night and it about killed me. I feel like I'm getting a preview of what its like to be old... lemme tell you, I don't think its going to be fun. This game is old, but fun. Its been making me very unproductive at the lab, today.

I'm loving the start to the USC Game. They receive, we stop them at the 14 yard line, they go three and out. We get the ball at their 45 march down and score. Fight on! I got up this morning, had coffee next to Famosa Slough, then went in to work. What an amazing job I have. I work as a support technician at a computer lab. If no one comes in, I don't have anything to do. I ended up working on my own stuff without so much as a visit from anyone. I'm such a geek, at one point I needed seven computers to work on what I was doing. I'm proud of that... definitely a personal record. a G5 to burn music, an old G4 with two monitors, my PowerBookG4, two iBooks, the GA station's G4, and a PC. going to go back and watch the game. Darnell Bing just put a tremendous hit on someone right at the first down marker. wow. (another MarsEdit post) I like it.

I have a meeting about a Human Rights project with authentic video footage from what happened in Argentina in the 1970's. Video footage of what was happening to the people who "disappeared" it blows my mind to think that we have footage of life inside a concentration camp. We're meeting to talk about making the content interactive. We would simulate what the experience could have been like.

Oh, and I joined the YMCA. Life is happening to me a lot faster than I can blog about, which is good but I always have a lot more to say than I have time to type. If you ever came to visit me, you know right where the Y is... you parked next to their pool.

It really is terrific being able to walk over there I don't even towel off when I get out of the pool. I go right out the gate.

I've had a ton of good posts lately. I just haven't had the time to do it. I had an exciting trip on the freeway when one of the bikes on the rack on the back swung halfway off and nearly into traffic. that was fun. I ran classes for two weeks while my professor was away. Did a big chat using fancy-shmancy software that brought together video, instant messenging and powerpoint slides. I fell flat on my face while at the beach a few days earlier, so I made my professorial debut with a big scab on my nose. I had a nice trip up north to see my friend and meet his new fiancee. I saw Paul and Dave and their family. test link If you are interested in hearing about any of these stories, go ahead and email me.

Testing using the MarsEdit app to post to my blog.

a few good links

I've been helping other people "learn" HTML by giving them good motivation to learn. My sisters both have their name.com I am hosting their sites for them. poor ol' kristin@kristin.com has a big message on her home page begging for spam I used her real email address. She will start getting harvested for it soon. I really should take that down. It used to say My name is Kristin and I'm happy that USC beat CAL. My friend Nick, is going to start putting things up on nick.bullplop.com I'm super thrilled that he's taking a dreamweaver course at NCC I hope that he can improve upon this site about his beloved Kings.

Flickr that Hoochie

I"m really having fun with some of the alternative ways to blog that I picked up in blogschool. After emailing my first post, I saw the ease of just emailing something on to the website, and from the mussed up appearance of my links, I see we can't use HTML.

So this entry, like the USC photo from a few posts ago comes from Flickr a photo gallery that I've been playing around with. Another great find from blogschool. I still jokingly work to be the professor in charge of the blognitive studies. Blogging really is phenomenal.

Not as phenomenal as hooking up with a hoochie on a stranger's car, but phenomenal nonetheless.

The To the MAN who DID his hoochie on my hood post is a gem from craigslist.

posted from email

My superhero friend sent me a great link from the best of Craig's List. It is titled To the MAN who DID his hoochie on my hood Such a great picture

The Colonel

So I've been eating really healthily lately. I get produce a couple times a week, and have stopped eating frozen food, and other than Santanas haven't even done fast food in about three weeks. I have more energy, I am getting back into shape. Its been great. But for the last ten days or so I have had cravings for KFC. For some reason the idea of chomping my way through a bucket of chicken, then washing it down with mashed potatoes and gravy sounds perfect. I was even going to bring KFC to a supper club that a friend of mine hosted last weekend. Its a long story, but I ended up bringing sushi rolls to the party instead. If you ask me, sushi and KFC are about as opposite as you can get. ONe is light, and healthy, the other one is greasy and packed with carbs even before it goes in the deep fryer. I don't know what I was thinking. So finally, last night I made amends. I hit the KFC, got myself 6 pieces of chicken and a side of mashed potatoes, gobbled it all until I felt sick and fell asleep on the sofa at nine oclock at night. Maybe it was the sheer volume of 6 pieces of fried chicken at one sitting, but I felt bad after two pieces. That crap is gross. I no longer crave KFC
