Chris Bliss Diss

Today one of the bright points of work was when someone forwarded me a link to watch this guy, Chris Bliss juggle to Beatles tunes. Its impressive how he times his juggling with the music, and is 4 minutes well spent.. Or so I thought. So tonight I was looking it up on You Tube to show the gf, and found that there was a hater. Apparently Chris Bliss wasn't really that good a juggler, so he put up his own 5 ball routine to the same music and called it the Chriss Bliss Diss. It really is amazing what the internet allows us to do. How small has the world become when jugglers can joust like this and people who should be working can sit by and compare.

I found this frame on the side of the road when I first moved to crowne point. I'm using the birthday money i got from my Oma to buy the wheels I needed for it. Roger, the guy who does most of my bike maintenance for me gave me a seat, used tires, and a used front rim for less than $50. The new bike's maden voyage was a cruise down the by seaport village.

Mastered

I typically have classes on thursday nights, but this week is spring break so i'm home with my lovely, watching some march madness. woo hoo! If only SDSU didn't lose a close game at the buzzer. I've got my first toastmasters speech under my belt. it was too short, to tell the truth. I ran out of time before I ever even got started. I wrote my speech at the last minute, and I think it showed. I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Feedburner

I have an upcoming podcast class, and am looking into feedburner.com as a means of publishing feeds for podcasts. Download an .m4a file here if you'd like. I'm using the conference preview podcast from last weeks computer using educators podcast.

Toast Master

I've been going to 7 AM Toastmasters meetings to work on my public speaking. The meetings make for long days, and each thursday when I come home my sweet gf asks me if I learned to make toast yet. Of course, we joke about it, I tell her I keep burning my toast on one side. It really has been challenging coming up with a new way that I messed up cooking's simplest dish.. toast. The reality is that it's tough to get up in front of a group, even if it is supportive strangers like I'm facing tomorrow. My first speech is in the morning, and I'm really looking forward to giving it, but the nerves are starting to kick in. Hopefully it goes well.

Tight Gift

My cat, "dishead" is doing better. I've recently been out of town... at Palm Springs, interviewing edtec notorieties for upcoming podcasts. When I left Thurs, he was sad, sulking a lot, and pretty much turning down any food I tried to give him. But when I came back on Sat. he gobbled up some of the leftovers I found for him in the fridge, and seems like himself again. I hear he's even figgired out how to fit it inside the seat so he can drink from his favorite porcelin bowl. Today, my birthday party extends into March. (i still got it) We have 4 tickets to the game against Seattle this afternoon. The gift along with a hand-written note from Kobe Bryant saying he couldn't wait to see me at the game. I really did, though the handwriting looks a bit like my gf's. She says she knows him so she probably just wrote down what he was telling her last time we talked. I'm not sure what to wear. I have an old HORRY jersey that I've been dying to turn into a HORNY jersey, the fonts are so similar it would only take one little patch to change it. Masking tape and a marker would probably work. I don't know if I'll do it though, I'm thinking LA cool, without all the gear is also a good way to go. Maybe I should hop on the trend Kobe's set around the league and show up to the game in tights. I expect big things from Ray Allen, who's one of the best in the league, and plays Kobe's position. He needs 3 points to hit the 15,000 point for his career, and this is a nationally televised game. I expect that Kobe will match up against him all night, which should be great to watch. The team's hot right now, rising in the standings and coming off wins over the Spurs and the Pistons. Like Randy Newman says, I love LA!

Poor Charlie got in a fight the other day. Now I haven't seen the other cat, but I assume charlie got the worst of it.

There are a couple bits on his back that got infected, so we had to take him in for surgery on friday. He's got two pieces of medical tubing running down each side of the infected area- It goes under his skin, which is pretty nasty. It gets worse. We get to stick a cyringe between his skin and the tubing every 12 hours to flush it out.

The good news is, he picks up TV shows from the east cost now that he's got a dish.
