40 painful days

The last time i saw my iPod nano was fat Tuesday. I looked for it far and wide... I kept thinking I'd find it in a pair of pants, tucked away with something, or see it and have an ah-ha moment. That's right! That's where I put it. But that moment never came. It was really hard on me- I started working in Carlsbad which gave me an hour commute to work and an hour and a half coming home. I wore grooves into my radio buttons looking for something good. I missed my iPod bad. I think the worst moment was when I had a dream that it was on top of my bookshelf, then got up and went and checked. Finally it took something drastic for me to do something about it. My mom is going through hip replacement surgery, which means she'll be spending a week in the hospital (she's doing fine) and will be spending a lot of time off her feet. I was thinking of getting her a gameboy or something like it to keep her entertained while she heals, then I realized a Nano would be the perfect thing for her. She's become a fan of Leo Laporte's Tech guy series on KFI, so I loaded it up with episodes, pictures of her children, and some music that I thought she'd like. I bought Nanos for both of us the day before I headed up to see her for easter, which means I basically gave up my iPod for lent.
