I am L

I've worked at the Instructional Media Lab, or IML since I started at San Diego State. My friends, Thien and Matt were two of my favorite reasons for being there. I sadly went to their going-away luncheon yesterday. Thien is going to Japan for a year to teach. I think it'll be a terrific opp for him and hope to see him when he gets back. Matt's case is sadder for me. Like my friends in Taiwan, whom I miss dearly, Matt is moving off to another continent. He's been a dear friend and I'm excited for him to get back to "real person" status... in that he could get a job and not just use his talents to make pennies in a student job somewhere. I'm also selfish in that I don't want to lose my friend and wish he'd just straighten out and marry some chick here so he could stay and remain my friend forever. too bad he's not even on the fringe of liking minge. We finished a great lunch at a place in North Park called Mission. I had a horrible drink called a Vincent Vega, which is Coke with a shot of espresso and Vanilla syrup. Like the peanut butter burger of my past, I just figgired I'd try it and see. Another bad idea. I'm sure Matt and Thien will miss having a boss who is so relaxed that he didn't notice/mind that we took an extra hour to make it back to work. We all snuck in a drink at a seedy bar. But that's a whole nother story. Cheers Matt, Cheers Thien.

That was very sweet, Karl. Thank you.

You're right about the minge, though. Not even if I was a starving man, Karl. Not even then.
