This is Heather's bug. I hear there's video of her fainting when she got it for her 16th Birthday.
It's still in great shape. her dad does a lot of work on it. It's such a pretty car, i had to put up a flickr slideshow to show it off a little better.
My first trip to KY was this summer when the bug needed a new fueltank. He got it working a couple days after Christmas so we could cruise around before we left. My favorite part was how he drove it right up on the lawn in front of the house.
classic.

Heather teaches at a school where they've been teaching the kids "cultural sensitivity." Not everyone celebrates Christmas, you know. For weeks, they've been studying Kwanza, and Chanukah, Christmas and Ramadon, and as we talked about politically correctness and saying Season's Greetings and Holiday Party instead of Christmas party we came up with a better, more efficient way of wishing everyone well this holiday season. Merry Kwanza-kuh-mas-adon, everyone! I'm spending this fine day in the kwanzakumasadon season working on iDVDs to share with my family and Heathers over the holidays. It's been fun. I have a 19" monitor plugged into the PC I'm using to type this, but it also plugs into the 15" powerbook that's on my left. Since the monitor takes two cables, I've been happily working between dual screen mac and pc, laptop and desktop with my Nano shuffling files between the two. It's turning out well, too. I've borrowed a video camera that has some good action video of the area around our new place, and plenty of bad bumpy footage of me riding the bay on a bike. It's fun putting them all together into a kwanzakumasadon present. I haven't made anything in a while and am really enjoying this. Heather thinks I'm a nut, staying up til one, then getting up early and going back to it. what can I say? it's fun.
School and work have both been so busy lately that I didn't get a chance to share any of the fun things that happened lately. the blurry pictures of some rapper guy came from a terrific night Heather and I spent last week watchin Kanye West's Touch the Sky tour. I drove home from Irvine, thinking about how unusual it is for a rapper to have songs about Jesus, (like Jesus walks) his mom (Hey mama) and his sick grandma (go out and buy Late Registration and find it for yourself). He really breaks the mold. true, he raps about smoking pot and dropping out of college, but he also is the only rapper I know who had string musicians on stage with him. the concert was Heather's treat, and has been the highlight of my december so far. Other nominees for best event in December include a few good consulting opportunities, including putting together a series of podcasts to promote our department at SDSU. It sounds like I'll get a chance to interview and talk with our professors and their heros. Good to put something together for the department. I feel like they've given a lot to me, and even though i haven't graduated yet, I feel like I'd like to give something back. Plus I'll get to put my name out there so that it will reach the ears of many of our influential alumni, and at the least I'll get to work with some really talented people... John Keller interviewed by Bernie Dodge will make it worth the while. There've been a few good nights out drinking with friends. a few good jogs along the beach (even one today) and of course USC has continued it's success. apologies to all people who don't like pictures of poop popping up in their newsreader. For now, I'm still one final away from finishing the semester. I have a few projects to wrap up before taking the 21st through 29th off.

Pedalling around the beach in shorts in december- what a life. don't it look great?
I just love the rivalry games in football. Today USC and ucla meet in the last game of the season. There's only one loss between the two teams, and there's a lot on the line. I've been looking forward to this game all season.
especially because my little sister is a senior at ucla, and she's lost to us each year. I'm hoping she goes through college without ever winning the rivalry game.
this morning she called me at 8:30, describing her mimosa and tailgating plans. i wish I had tickets to the game, but from in front of my 50" tv, I'll have a pretty good view, too.
As i talked to her on the phone, she asked me what I was doing. i told her I was sitting on the toilet "making bruins". I told her how much that this "bruin" stinks, and that it was huge. Of course I told her this between grunting noises. They really could use a bruin that big on their defensive line. I'm thinking it's their porous defense that will be the difference between the two games. i'm sorry if the picture below is offensive to any of my readers. I know just how you feel. Bruins are gross, aren't they?!
