Don't forget to skip work

It's 7:30 in the morning and I'd generally be headed up to sorrento valley on the 5. Instead, I'm headed out the door for a little bike ride around Crown Point. I have a coffee place where I like to stop and then will loop around and head off to the ocean. I"m resting up for my grueling 2 day work week. I'm only working Tuesday and Wednesday. thursday afternoon we head out to New Orleans for 4 big days in the Bigeasy. Rehearsal dinners, officiating, and french quarters. It was so fun going out on a Sunday night. thanks again to robinandrindi.com who hosted the event Long live no work on Mondays! Remember the fallen heros who gave their life to give us this day, make the most of it!

Odeo-eo-eo-eo

Testing to see if I could put up an odeo voicemail box. The way this should work is that anyone with a built in microphone can click and then talk to their web browser and it will leave a message. Send Me A Message Update: It does work. I can do something like this for my podcast show and hope that people will leave me a message. what happens is.. well, you try it. Just know that I get emailed.

Big Day in the Big Easy

One of the things I've been doing instead of blogging has been writing speeches. For about 3 months, I've been going to Toastmaster early on thursday mornings. A group of about 20 meet at 7 AM to spend 90 minutes together, working on public speaking. I've found it a really good experience, and I've noticed a change in the way I present myself. Even though I've only given two prepared speeches, I've found focusing on polishing a presentation has produced pleasing results at school, and work. I have another big day coming up. Reverend Karl will be doing the Shoenwald - Afeman wedding in a few weeks. I took advantage of my second toastmasters speech to record the who event. You can listen through this page, or click to download . It kills me that I'm introduced as Reverend Karl Richter before I give the speech. Funnier still, the groom's given me the thumbs up to wear a wire at the wedding and capture the second time I give the speech. We'll see if the bride lets that happen.
